TWD: Brrrr-ownies

I think there are three types of people in this world.  People who like their chocolate plain, people who like their chocolate with “warm” spices such as cinnamon, and people who like their chocolate with “cool” flavorings like peppermint.  I fall into the last category.  I have always been a fan of the mint/peppermint & chocolate combination.  I don’t know what it is about the cooling effect mixed with the chocolate that I like, but let’s just say that I always keep a small candy jar full of Junior Mints in our house.

So, these week’s TWD recipe was right up my alley.  It was Brrr-ownies chosen by Karen of Welcome to Our Crazy Blessed Life.  It is a dense brownies recipe with pieces of York Peppermint Patties strewn throughout.  Dorie’s brownies are always delicious too.  They are always on the fudgy side, which I prefer, instead of the cake side.  Actually, her brownie recipes tend to consist of a lot of chocolate, some butter and sugar, eggs, and then just a dash of flour.  The funny thing with this recipe though is how the peppermint patties bubble up and are gooey throughout the brownies.  It doesn’t make for beautiful brownies, but they are delicious.

P.S. Do you ever have those weekends that you are just super-productive around your house just to go to work on Monday and see that the motivation has completely disappeared?  Well, I guess it is going to be one of those weeks.  Oh well.  Hopefully I can maintain some of that motivation at home at night.

I hope you enjoy the Brrrr-ownies.  Go see Karen’s blog if you would like the recipe.
